But their safety is threatened once more as Raymond returns to the ballroom at the Buckingham Hotel, ordered to discover the dark secrets held by the glittering high society. On the dancefloor Raymond uncovers a dangerous relationship that could change the course of the war, and also threaten his marriage to Nancy. Can he protect his King and his family before it is too late?
A DANCE FOR THE KING is a pageturning and epic wartime story filled with drama, mystery, dance and romance.
Hello my loves,
It gives me tremendous pleasure to share news of the next instalment in my Buckingham Hotel series: “A Dance For The King“.
This, now the seventh book in the wartime story of the intrepid hero Raymond de Guise, tells of his return from North Africa to his family and friends at the Buckingham. He has suffered hardship and loss, but England needs him more than ever. With spies having infiltrated high society at the hotel, alongside a wave of American GIs, the dancefloor of the Grand Ballroom plays host to plots and partnerships as never before. Raymond’s callings, as leader in both ballroom and battlefield interweaving as he tries to protect his King and country before it’s too late.
A Dance For The King will be published on 26th September – but I’m delighted to say that a limited number of signed first editions can be pre-ordered from Amazon now! It’s also available for your Kindle, with paperback and audiobook to follow.
Timing is everything, as they say – so how remarkably fitting to announce my new book, aptly titled, on the very same day as my appearance on a very special, landmark episode of Lorraine – filmed at Buckingham Palace no less! Such a great honour to be invited into those hallowed halls, regal rooms and stately suites – and Lorraine and I had such a lovely chat, too. If you missed it, you can watch it on ITV’s catch-up service here:
The 2024 Book Tour!
Stay tuned for news of book-related events, too – I know my publishers are hard at work coordinating a mini book tour this coming autumn to coincide with the publication date, the start of Strictly Come Dancing, and my autumn and winter tours. No mean feat!
The first confirmed date is 14th September in Powys – full details here:
I’m sure there’ll be more dates to come, so do follow my social media for all the up-to-the-minute news – Instagram, Facebook and Twitter (or should I say X) – it seems to be the modern means of keeping in step these days!
Well, my loves, I’m on stage in Shrewsbury this evening with Gio on our ‘Together‘ tour, and sound check is calling so I shall now sign off.
I hope you’re all keeping safe and well, and I’m sending you much love.
